One of the Colonial Pipeline’s main lines suffered a gasoline leak in Paulding County on Tuesday — and now, officials estimate it will remain shut down for several more days.

The leak on the pipeline did not create a public health threat but did require the shutdown of the largest fuel pipeline in the U.S. for much of this week.

Late Friday morning, Paulding County officials reported all county roads were impassable after the county received two to four inches of snow. A spokesperson for the county says they’ve had several cars lose control and crash into ditches. The County’s Department of Transportation will be grading major roadways.

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — Colonial Pipeline, the company that operates the nation’s largest gasoline pipeline, is reporting a possible leak in west Georgia. A spokesperson for the company shared a statement with Channel 2 Action News confirming they are investigating a “potential gas release on our right of way” in Paulding County.

Details are limited, but they say crews are on scene. Tuesday’s shutdown is expected to last 12 hours.

Colonial Pipeline announced Friday morning that repairs to its gasoline pipeline, Line 1, in Paulding County, have been successfully completed.
