Minnesota Democratic Party Chairman Ken Martin has been elected chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Without control of the White House or Congress, the new DNC chair will lead the campaign arm of a Democratic Party that is still figuring out how to move on from rejection at the ballot box.

The Democratic National Committee elected Ken Martin as its new chair on Feb. 1. Martin previously served as the chairman of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party since 2011.
