In second place was Warsaw, which Flatio describes as an emerging destination for digital nomads thanks to its ‘thriving tech scene, affordable cost of living and excellent infrastructure’. The cost of living here is on par with Porto, and the city’s welcoming atmosphere and great green spaces (such as Łazienki Park) were commended by the research.

A recent ranking by UK payment provider Dojo highlights the best places in the world for digital nomads, and five Canadian cities made the cut. But surprisingly, Toronto — the country's biggest business hub — didn't make the list.
