Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insists injuries have held them back this season after defeat at home to Liverpool.

The Manchester City manager was proud of his team despite defeat. What he thought of Liverpool's tactics was less clear, with Guardiola repeatedly referencing how many players it got behind the ball.

We could be more productive in shooting, maybe people need to arrive more in the box. But we played a fantastic team and put together a really good performance. The first half was 50/50 and set pieces made the difference.
