A retired Pittsburgh police officer is now charged with shooting her own grandson during an argument early Tuesday morning.

A retired Pittsburgh police officer was arrested Tuesday after allegedly shooting her grandson in the leg. Virginia Beck, 63, of Pittsburgh is retired from the city’s police bureau, public safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz confirmed.

A retired Pittsburgh police officer was arrested and charged after authorities say she shot her teenage grandson during an argument. Police said that a 16-year-old boy was dropped off by a family member at a hospital at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday because he had been shot in the leg. The family member then left before police arrived.

Before he was hired by the Pittsburgh Police Bureau, 11 Investigates learned that Anthony Dilley resigned under fire from a police department in Michigan after allegations he falsified credentials.

Police previously said a 16-year-old boy showed up at a hospital after he was shot in the leg. He was dropped off around 1:30 a.m. by a family member who left before police arrived. The teen is in stable condition.

Virginia Beck is facing attempted homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and child endangerment charges in connection with the shooting.
