Volunteer rescuers have freed a humpback whale that had become entangled in rope at a Skye fish farm. The animal was spotted in difficulty at Organic Sea Harvest's Invertote site in the north of the island on Thursday morning.

A whale is trapped in mooring lines just off the coast of Skye. The mammal became lodged in mooring lines of a fish farm around 10 miles north of Portree, Skye's largest town, earlier today. Fish farming company Organic Sea Harvest has two pens containing Salmon just off coast of the Trotternish peninsula on the island.
