Southern Ventura County was primed to be hit with the region's most ferocious Santa Ana wind event in years, creating extremely critical fire weather in the area.

According to The Associated Press, the fire has spread to populated areas, resulting in the destruction of 132 structures, which include mostly homes, and damaging 88 others. Over 10,000 people have been evacuated, with thousands of other structures standing in the fires path, including critical infrastructure.

Officials in several Southern California counties urged residents to be on watch for fast-spreading blazes, power outages and downed trees during the latest round of notorious Santa Ana winds.
