Atalanta and Feyenoord got their first wins of the revamped Champions League in contrasting styles. While Atalanta coasted to a 3-0 win against Ukrainian side Shakthar Donetsk, Feyenoord secured a gritty 3-2 win at tournament newcomer Girona in the second round of matches.

Kylian Mbappé returned from a hamstring injury by coming off the bench for Real Madrid in the second half of the team’s Champions League match at Lille on Wednesday. Mbappé entered the game in the 57th minute to replace defender Éder Militão.

Real’s rivals Barcelona are sitting pretty at the top of La Liga and Carlo Ancelotti’s side squandered the chance to narrow the gap on the weekend after they were held to a draw by Atletico Madrid. But, as is always the case when it comes to European competition, none of that should have much of an effect on the Champions League specialists.
