The East City Council gave its first approval to new cannabis zoning and business codes during its meeting Tuesday night.

Plans to build up to 1,200 new homes and a community hub on land near The Avenue in March have been recommended for approval.

Board members say they are focused on learning more about each other while prioritizing areas such as early literacy.

Maharashtra is set to vote in the 2024 assembly election Wednesday, November 20, across all 288 constituencies, with polling scheduled between 7am and 6pm. The results will be declared on November 23.
