The Israeli military suffered its first casualties in southern Lebanon battles with Hezbollah on October 2. Eight soldiers were killed in one incident and a ninth in a second clash, according to Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reports from October 2 and October 3.

Videos purport to show Israeli soldiers and IDF helicopters conducting military ground operations in southern Lebanon. In one video, it appears a casualty evacuation process underway as IDF helicopters land in the Kfar Gil'adi area.

The Israeli military on Thursday released video it says shows troops and a tank operating in southern Lebanon. The video was said to show Israel Defense Forces soldiers on the move, as well an airstrike they had called in.
