A major controversy has erupted in Manipur after Churachandpur MLA Lallian Mang Khaute took to social media to post about the 10 killed in a November 11 encounter. In his posts, Khaute called the 10 killed "martyrs." Reportedly, the 10 were killed after they allegedly attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Jiribam's Borobekra.

The Meitei Alliance said that the community already suffering from violence and displacement has been subjected to extreme atrocities, including sexual violence, killings and the destruction of relief camps.

Manipur CM N. Biren Singh held a high-level meeting addressing security concerns, following killings in Jiribam. Discussions included law and order strengthening and AFSPA decisions. Internet services suspended in several districts amidst ongoing tensions.
