The attack came as fears are mounting about Moscow's intentions to devastate Ukraine's power generation capacity ahead of the cold winter.

"We strongly condemn the violation of Moldova’s airspace by Russia’s missiles and drones targeting Ukraine’s critical infrastructure today," Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi said.

Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s energy grid, targeting power plants and infrastructure. Around 120 missiles and 90 drones were fired, including advanced weapons like 8 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and Zircon cruise missiles.
