An 18-year-old and his mother have reunited with a Minnesota state trooper after the officer saved the teen’s life during a runaway car incident.

A teen in Minnesota was recently saved by a crash after his car malfunctioned, causing him to accelerate to more than 100 mph. Sam Dutcher last month was finished running a few errands when his 18-year-old Honda Pilot seemed to malfunction.

Liz Hatton, 16, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer in January. Doctors gave her between six months and three years to live.
