A gunman, armed with a handgun and carrying zip ties, went inside UPMC's ICU, and took staffers hostage before he was ultimately killed by police in a shootout, the York County DA said.

Four people are hospitalized and a gunman is dead after a shooting at the UPMC Hospital in York Saturday morning, according to the Associated Press.

UPMC released a statement on social media saying the hospital is "now secure" and that law enforcement is managing the situation.
