Add a data series to a chart in Excel. Show a new data series in your chart (graph) by including the series and its name in the chart source data.

After you create a chart, you can change the data series in two ways: Use the Select Data Source dialog box to edit the data in your series or rearrange them on your chart. Use chart filters to show or hide data in your chart.

If your chart contains chart titles (ie. the name of the chart) or axis titles (the titles shown on the x, y or z axis of a chart) and data labels (which provide further detail on a particular data point on the chart), you can edit those titles and labels.

You can add a built-in chart field, such as the series or category name, to the data label. But much more powerful is adding a cell reference with explanatory text or a calculated value. Click the data label, right click it, and then click Insert Data Label Field .

If you need some of the Map Series options, then you can build your chart in Excel for Windows and view it on an Android device or Excel Mobile. Depending on the map chart type, you can change the following Series options:

In the chart, select the data series that you want to plot on a secondary axis, and then click Chart Design tab on the ribbon. For example, in a line chart, click one of the lines in the chart, and all the data marker of that data series become selected. Click Add Chart Element > Axes > and select between Secondary Horizontal or Second Vertical.
