Jul 10, 2021 · You MUST keep in mind that this round is more like a .375 Winchester or .375 JDJ and any bullet suitable for those are suitable for the .375 SOCOM, but .375 H&H mag bullets are not a good fit for the SOCOM since they need much higher impact velocities to expand, which is why the 270 gr. RN is not really a good hunting bullet past about 50-75 yards.

375 Socom - AR15.COM
Jan 27, 2017 · I totally agree, thhe .375 SOCOM is a better longer range round than the .458 but it is really hard to top the incredible knock-down power of a 400-525 gr. subsonic .458 hammer. On one level I wish I were not retired because the reduced level of discretionary income limits building more .375s in shorter barrel lengths to play with like I did ...
375 Socom from Wilson Combat? - AR15.COM
Sep 15, 2021 · I have quite a bit of experience with the .375 SOCOM and worked with TROMIX during the development and initial load development and testing of the round as well as working with Vollmer bullets developing bullets specifically for the .375 S. IMO it is a more versatile round than even the .458 SOCOM because it works well with the right bullets out to 300 yards and MOA accuracy is easy to get.

Bolt action upper (BCA) build: 375 SOCOM, 458 SOCOM, or 338 …
Feb 15, 2025 · I think the 21" is the ideal length. I have a 17 inch, 18 inch, and a 24 inch. The 24 inch with the added muzzle device is a bit long for close work, but it does give about 200 fps more than the 18 inch. IMO, if I could only have one .375 SOCOM, it would be the TROMIX 21 inch, with the lightweight profile, which is really a midweight.
How about a .375 SOCOM? - AR15.COM
Dec 17, 2008 · Larger bore larger case, lower pressures per a given velocity. That is why the .416 Rigby launches a bullet at 2400 fps at about 40K whereas a .416 Remington launches the same bullet at the same velocity at about 55K. Larger case=less pressure. And the .458 SOCOM case will have more room with a .300 gr. bullet than a .375 SOCOM with a 300 gr ...
375 socom dead? - AR15.COM
Jan 9, 2018 · 1. The .375 SOCOM uses the exact same buffer and springs as the .458. So does the .358 SOCOM and .400/10mm SOCOM (same round, two names) 2. All SOCOMs MUST have the ejection port enlarged. If it has the standard sized 5.56 ejection port, it must be enlarged or there is not enough room for the round to eject through.

Apr 11, 2024 · I had a pile of retro parts sitting around and decided to put together a 375 SOCOM build. Most parts were from JSE surplus. Started with the complete upper receiver group, then dusted off one of my older lowers. I got a custom 14.5" barrel from Deadshot barrels.
