If your still feeding blood worms I’d suggest switching to red wigglers because as they get older blood worms don’t contain enough nutrients for a balanced Axolotl diet.

Oct 29, 2009 · Ever since I got this one, I've been using tubifex worms as a staple diet. I was just reading the Axolotl page again and it says tubifex worms are high on fat. And my axolotl has been eating them everyday for a month! I'm getting him those "hikiri carnivore pellets" tomorrow as a staple diet and the tubifex worms as treats.

Apr 20, 2009 · My axolotl, Mika, who we thought was a male at first but is probably a female, is staying at the bottom of his tank and not swimming around. Yes, he is alive, I feed him bloodworms twice a week and sometimes pellets so he has a bit of variation. He used to swim sometimes and go up to gulp air but over the past few weeks he has not done this.
