The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a top Hong Kong university with strong research emphasis. The university aims to bring together China and the West.

In choosing ' 博文約禮 ' as its motto, the University is laying equal emphasis on the intellectual and moral aspects of education. The emblem of the University is the mythical Chinese bird feng (鳳) which has been regarded as the Bird of the South since the Han dynasty. It is a symbol of nobility, beauty, loyalty and majesty.

When the anniversary logo is applied on our corporate colours (see section 2.1) or black colour, the reversed white version will be used. 當六十周年標誌設置於標誌顏色或黑色背景時，必須使用反白版本。

Concept of CUHK 55 th Anniversary Logo. The design of the logo for CUHK's 55 th Anniversary is inspired by the motto of the University '博文約禮' (Through learning and temperance to virtue). These words of Confucius have long been considered a principal precept of his teaching.
