The Airbus Helicopters H130 (formerly Eurocopter EC130) is a single engine light utility helicopter developed from the earlier Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil, one of the primary changes from which was the adoption of a Fenestron anti-torque device in place of a conventional tail rotor.

The EC-130 Compass Call aircraft attempts to disrupt enemy command and control communications and limits adversary coordination essential for enemy force management. The Compass Call system employs offensive counterinformation and electronic attack capabilities in support of U.S. and Coalition tactical air, surface, and special operations forces .

Appeared in 1994, this lightweight twin-engine multi-role helicopter incorporates newest technology like a bearingless main rotor (BMR), high performance main rotor blades and low noise ducted tail rotor (Fenestron). Last development of the Kawasaki/MBB BK 117 includes many of the upgrades performed in the EC 135.

The “EC130 B4” is also used by the police in Long Beach/CA and by several medical services. The “EC130 B4” has been built until 2013. As of 2014 it is replaced by the improved “EC130 T2”, which was renamed to “H130” in 2015. It has a new and more powerful Turbomeca Arriel 2D engine and a 70% modified airframe.
