Aug 16, 2024 · Unfortunately HMS Hawke appears to have been an unlucky ship. In September 1911 the Hawke collided with the ocean liner RMS Olympic; the damage smashed the Hawke's bow and damaged the stern of the Olympic. This event probably gave rise to many of the fanciful theories of a Olympic/Titanic identity swap.

Returned to the UK to reserve at Portsmouth 1898-99.
