May 9, 2022 · I've been a tomshardware member for years. Also, I was wrong suggesting Windows 11 doesn't support Raid it's actually the newest NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD's that don't support Raid. Since my 2 year old notebook only supports NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD's the Raid obviously wasn't the reason Windows 11 upgrade didn't fully install.

You need to open the Disk Management application, right-click on each of your two disks and select "Convert to Dynamic Disk", then right-click on one of the disks and select "New Mirrored Volume then right-click on one of the disks and select "New Mirrored Volume".

May 31, 2020 · I believe that the Raid was created within the BIOS but have no technical knowledge of how that was done or how to change it. But, twice when updating Windows it has corrupted my Raid settings. The most recent challenge was done last month or so when Widows 10 Home update screwed things up.

Aug 16, 2015 · I think that the reason the RAID 1 was broken was due to it being a software RAID through windows rather than a hardware RAID setup. Windows 10 does not appear to support the RAID structure. They created something called "Storage Spaces" instead. It looks to be a more dynamic version of RAID, but I'm not 100% sure.
