Can anyone comment on the 'grille bars' placed across the tweeter. Is this just protection from poking fingers? The above picture is the S38II. The first Studio series (S38, S310, S312, etc.) had only one central horizintal bar across the tweet. I have seen other JBL series using EOS where one vertical bar is used.

I'd suggest you take some time and run a search on both cabinets here. I have a set of the 4507s that came with JBL 2226 woofers. They're efficient and have great bass. The cool thing about them, though, is the use of Zilchplugs (search here for that one, too) and you can control the low-end cutoff point by filling up any number of the 4 vents.

I am re-foaming jbl 125A speakers. One is already finished and it is perfect (there is no friction when raising or lowering the cone) The second already has the new foam attached to the cone (but not yet to the basket) I am holding it with many "tweezers" to do the tests before sticking it.
