Union Pacific 1243 is a preserved 4-6-0 "Ten Wheeler" type steam locomotive on display at the Durham Museum in Omaha, Nebraska. Built in October 1890 by the American Locomotive Company's Cooke Works, No. 1243 is one of the oldest "Ten Wheelers" owned by the Union Pacific Railroad (UP).

1243 is a preserved former New South Wales Government Railways Z12 class steam locomotive. Built in 1882 by Atlas Engineering Company, Sydney, it is on static display at the Powerhouse Museum.

In 1955, for the centenary of rail operations in New South Wales, 1243 was restored to its original livery. It was joined by 1210 in December 1959 and together these hauled the Vintage Train across the state.

A repaint to black livery, cast iron chimney and renumbering to 1243 came in 1978. 1243 was withdrawn from the NSWRTM operational fleet in about 1982, corresponding with the time larger and more utilitarian steam locos 3001T and 3642 had recently been returned to service.

Hudswell Clarke Works No 1243 Richboro 0-6-0T This locomotive was built by Hudswell Clarke in 1917 for the Inland Waterways & Docks. It worked at the Richborough Military Port in Kent after which it gained the name Richboro.
