The data transfer of the data recorder ( 1,800 bits/sec ) is 50% faster than all other SHARP MZ's ( 1200 bits/sec ). It is possible to use high resolution and two graphic areas by the MZ-80B ( 320 × 200 dot graphics option ).

The MZ-1200 is a continuation of the MZ-80K series, following the MZ-80K2E and proceeding the MZ-700. A similar model was released in the western world as the MZ-80A. It has double the RAM (now 64KB) and a much more standard-looking keyboard. Interestingly, it's not necessarily a better keyboard.

Nov 21, 2019 · After going through a set of old books recently I found my old MZ-80A manual and on page 167 (attached) it showed the A's definition for the attribute RAM. So I need to take this all onboard and produce a design which is fully compatible with the 700 (ie. disable bit 3 in 700 mode) and with the 80A specification for the attribute.

Mar 14, 2021 · And, if I remember correctly, the tape speed is 1400 baud on MZ80B, in contrast to 1200 baud on the other MZ80 computers and the MZ-700. The MZ80B was a nice try to get into the commercial bracket. I think it is the first Sharp computer that could run CP/M without non standard expansions.
