The Sd.Kfz.234/4 (full name: Schwerer Panzerspähwagen 7.5 cm Sonderkraftfahrzeug 234/4 Panzerabwehrkanonenwagen) was a relatively improvised variant on the Sd.Kfz.234 chassis, created in late 1944 to prevent PaK40s from falling behind during the constant retreat of the Germans on all fronts.

The casing for the 7.5cm Kw.K. 40 was shorter and fatter then the 7.5cm Pak 40, making it easier to handle and store in the confined spaces of an armoured vehicle. It could be traversed through an arc of 40 o ( 20 o left/right of centre); elevation was -8 to +16 o .

Jul 24, 2018 · All of them literally lead to the same vehicle, and people are generally fine with it, because the former is a real nickname, and the Pakpuma does indicate the presence of a PaK 40 on a Sd.Kfz.234 chassis, so the hybrid is fine also.

One vehicle was the eight-wheeled Sd.Kfz.234, essentially a Puma with the turret removed and a PaK-40 anti-tank Gun in its place. The Sd.Kfz.234/4 was the last of the eight-wheel armored cars built and because of the continual Allied bombing of the German factories only 89 were produced.
