Color Experts! Sabino? Rabicano? - The Horse Forum
Oct 20, 2010 · The problem with both rabicano and sabino is that they can hide in minimal expressions, therefore resulting in a rabicano foal from two seemingly "solid" parents. Rabicano is completely and utterly unrelated to the roan gene. It is believed to be associated with sabino, as it so often presents itself in conjunction with sabino.
Paint horses with Rabicano - The Horse Forum
Oct 29, 2013 · Yep, my friend has a registered Paint mare who sports numerous patterns - we're thinking at least sabino, frame and rabicano plus potentially splash. These pics don't show it well but she has a fairly prominant white tail head and fairly prominant white ticking throughout her flank spots (the photos don't really show this at all):
Interesting Color - Black, Roan, or Rabicano? | The Horse Forum
Mar 20, 2015 · Not enough concentration in the flanks with the amount of white on the body for rabicano. True roan can and does at times concentrate white at the tail head. Rabicano doesn't always put "stripes" on with white, tends to concentrate in the flanks around the elbows and doesn't just put solid white on the top of the tail typically.

Rabicano or sabino? - The Horse Forum
Oct 22, 2013 · Unless you mean it in a sense like pearl requires either another pearl gene or a cream gene to be displayed. But I believe that pearl is alone in that kind of oddness and there hasn't been a whole lot of research on rabicano. Either way, he's definitely rabicano and looks a generic sabino also with a symmetrical blaze, white lips, and pointed ...
Is it possible my Sorrel is an rabicano and sabino?
Apr 16, 2022 · Your horse is rabicano. I don't believe he is sabino. I had a gelding that I raised that for his first 2 years, he was sorrel rabicano.. . . . . and then he went pink.
