The redcap (or powrie) is a type of malevolent, murderous goblin found in folklore of the Anglo-Scottish border region.

A redcap mythical creature typically has a shorter stature with a thickset frame and eyes of a fiery red colour. They usually have very elvish or gnomish features, along with prominent teeth, skinny fingers, and grisly hair streaming from their head.

You see, Red Caps live in the ruined and abandoned castles and forts in the Borders, especially ones where battles and particularly grisly events happened. A part of the Unseelie Court, Redcaps are fearsome creatures who most certainly wish harm upon humans.
