In this format, it is easy for a producer/script reader to estimate how long the running time of the script will be. The accepted format lays out the script at roughly one minute per page.

Below, you’ll find a handful of examples of the most commonly used formats for play scripts. We also provide samples of how to format your title page, as well as preparing a resume and cover letter for submission opportunities.

The document provides formatting guidelines for submitting a stage play script, including using a word processing program, standard font and size, single spacing, and bold/italic text for character names.

This format is based on The Dramatists Guild of America's suggested traditional play format. The font is Courier New 12pt. BILL stands ready to help you.
