May 12, 2015 · Trilene knot is solid, and pretty much matches the Palomar with fluorocarbon and mono, but the Palomar excels against the Trilene knot with braid. Been using the Palomar exclusively for about 25 years now and have never seen a reason to change. Closest thing to an all-purpose/all lines knot I've found. -T9

Jan 12, 2023 · I prefer the Berkley Braid Knot for fluoro. It's easy to tie and holds stronger than the clinch type knots on fluoro. With mono, I use the Trilene Clinch Knot. Tried and true. My go to standard knot is the Fish N Fool, which I primarily use with braid, but will also sometimes use for mono and fluoro. It's just a reliable all-around knot.

The knot starts like a Palomar double line, except the loop end is warped around the main line 5 turns like the Trilene knot, the passed through opening next to the hook or lure, then pulled tight. Jul 10, 2024 · The triple loop knot is basically a trilene knot with 3 loops through the hook, instead of 2. The Fluoro didn't impress me enough to pay what it cost, but I liked the triple loop knot. I use it now with Big Game mono. It's easy enough to tie, especially if you're used to tying a trilene or improved clinch knot.

In some cases, I prefer a Trilene knot or a loop knot. When I'm working jigs around the cover, the tag end of the Palomar knot stands straight up and tends to hang up.
