Jun 25, 2013 · Volkswagen doesn't need to make money on their one and only hyper car, the Veyron. In fact, Volkswagen has lost money on the Veyron (after development costs, etc.) VW makes most of their money on small, economical cars. If anyone builds a car just to beat a speed record, it is more likely a big company than a small one.

Jan 5, 2018 · Also, the rear looks like it belongs to another car completely - a bad one. It looks like someone dipped their hand in glue and stuck it in a bucket of spare model kit parts and out it emerged. The grey colour doesn't do it any favours in that respect.

After teasing the car back in January, the Tuatara is now in a more production ready form. SSC’s last car, the Ultimate Aero, dethroned the Bugatti Veyron back in 2007, achieving a record speed of 256mph.
