V-dipole - RTL-SDR
A V-Dipole is simply a dipole antenna spread at 120 degrees, placed horizontal to the ground, and typically oriented in a North-South direction for receiving weather satellites. Back in 2017, Adam 9A4QV wrote about how a V-Dipole could be used as a very simple yet effective antenna for receiving weather satellites.
DIPOLE AND INVERTED V VEE DESIGN AND CALCULATOR
This downloadable calculator will provide you with good starting measurements for a basic ground plane, Inverted V or standard Dipole antenna. The graphics below are "screen shots" taken from it.
Center-fed Horizontal V-dipole
Using the model, this study looks at the changes in antenna characteristics every 15 degrees angle of the arms.* The characteristics of a Horizontal V-Dipole are most effected by whether the V-form arms move closer or farther from the ground.
Dipole antenna - Wikipedia
A V antenna is a dipole with a bend in the middle so its arms are at an angle instead of co-linear. A quadrant antenna is a 'V' antenna with an unusual overall length of a full wavelength, with two half-wave horizontal elements meeting at a right angle where it is fed. [14]
The most fundamental NVIS antennas for fixed station operations are the linear dipole, the inverted-V dipole, and the 1-λ closed loop. Each has its own set of mechanical advantages and disadvantages in terms of the complexity of installation.
Inverted V Antenna – A popular Dipole variant - VU2NSB.com
Jun 9, 2020 · The Invertd-V antenna is a center-fed dipole antenna with the feed-point that is at the highest point of the structure. From this central feed-point location, the two arms of the dipole slope downwards at an angle with the endpoints being closer to the ground level.
Simple NOAA/Meteor Weather Satellite Antenna: A 137 MHz V-Dipole …
Mar 1, 2017 · The idea is that by arranging a dipole into a horizontal ‘V’ shape, the radiation pattern will be directed skywards in a figure 0 (zero) pattern. This will be optimal for satellites travelling in front, above and behind the antenna.
Center-fed Vertical V-dipole - qsl.net
The computer model for this study bends the antenna in the middle by any angle from vertical. Starting with our standard vertical dipole with the feed point 1/2 WL above average ground, the study is to increase the V-angle in 15 increments and measure the changes.
Explaining the 9A4QV V-Dipole Design for Receiving 137 MHz …
Dec 29, 2020 · Back in 2017 we posted about Adam 9A4QV's simple V-Dipole antenna design which works very well for receiving NOAA and Meteor weather satellites at 137 MHz. This type of antenna is a lot easier to build compared to a QFH or turnstile, and it results in good performance if built and set up correctly.
How to Build an Inverted V Dipole Antenna? - Johnson's Techworld
Jul 5, 2023 · How to Build an Inverted V Dipole Antenna? Here is the transcript of the video shown above: Today we will discuss about the inverted V antenna, which is often the first antenna which a radio amateur builds himself.
