Kaiju No. 8 has had some of my favorite shots in recent memory. The one where Kafka clashes punches with another kaiju and it it's flesh it torn away only leaving bone was awesome! Another favorite is when Shinomiya comes in and cuts No. 9 in half and slices his speech bubble too. I just love touches like that.

Jan 25, 2023 · Kaiju no 8 is no Evangelion in term of surrealism and deep character but that does not mean it has to be. Kafka is a 32 year old man chasing his dream, and got the power of a Kaiju. I love the fact the author pointed out that he is unhappy that ppl only need him for his kaiju power while his true self is still stagnant.

Dec 15, 2022 · That's a part of the overall problem. The artist is a good illustrator, but he's a bad manga artist - paneling, visual flow, the page to page experience, etc. that distinguish comics. Kaiju No. 8 reads more like storyboards for a tv show than a manga a lot of the time.
