Dr Katie Snape is a senior lecturer at St George's University of London and a Consultant in Cancer Genetics at St George’s, University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She also jointly leads the cancer genetics unit of the South West Thames Regional Genetics Service, and works in undergraduate teaching.

In keeping with Dame Sally Davies' white paper Generation Genome, this will further democratise genetic testing and, in some situations, avoid the need to refer to clinical genetics to access testing. The aim is to simplify patient pathways and reduce regional or social inequalities.
