Scope suggestions for Gen II Ruger American Ranch Rifle...
May 18, 2024 · Looking for scope recommendations for a Gen II Ranch rifle in 6.5 CM I recently purchased. This rifle will be used primarily for deer hunting and I will be using a suppressor. I know the range of the rifle is limited due to the shorter barrel length and I’d prefer not to spend more on the scope than what I paid for the rifle.

I then use the bubble level to level up the rifle/scope while looking through the scope and checking the crosshairs against the vertical plumb line. If everything cross-checks, I'm satisfied.

Then a Vortex Crossfire !! 2-7x32. More money, but it's a nice scope. When shooting I like the Simmons better! And, I bought a Burris Droptine 3-9x40. The same price as the Vortex.

Jul 26, 2020 · The folks that mounted my scope used blue loctite for the base mounts, but not for the scope rings. Seems the screws on the rear ring are loosening up after just a few shots now (464 rounds through barrel).
