Mar 26, 2019 · My best pull-up numbers were when I was not doing any pull-ups and was only doing seated narrow grip cable rows which would be similar to narrow ring bodyweight rows. However, rings make it a little more difficult to work specific grips (supinated, neutral, pronated) for pull-ups which is a factor in training the specific muscle pattern though.

Aug 14, 2023 · TRX comes with a door anchor so you can mount It anywhere and be able to get in a good workout. Rings work better with a bar to anchor them on, I'm sure you can adapt them to work elsewhere but less convenient. Also the moves that work best on rings really need them to be anchored directly above and high up which you can't do with a door.

Feb 19, 2025 · So I react well to high reps per set and low reps, but high frequency. I could keep that up for months on end, and usually had great carry-over to weighted pull-ups. On the other hand, if I did weighted pull-ups, I found I would plateau after around 8 weeks, and have close to zero direct carry-over to higher numbers.

For example, 20s x 3r = 60 reps at 'less biological cost' to the organism.. credit: [Al Ciampa], ( it's easily done in less than 30 mins as the body's volume building skill/progress is being made).. . I like to superset with push/pull movements in the format.
