Jul 14, 2008 · Fred,the brckt should be snug to the bolster before you tighten. For what ever reason,maybe welding drawed it that much,you need to use spacers or cut the weld. I would use some 5/8 USS washers and maybe lock tight. Yes,the nuts that Ford recommend were the same as the rear wheel. Remove one and try it. Good luck.

Changed the fluids, put in a new dash instrument cluster (great price on ebay), replaced the alternator and the expensive part was a new injector pump that had a leak I couldn't find.

Feb 2, 2025 · That looks like the original Ford top link from our 4000 SU. I thought the parts books showed a different design, without the clinching rod. Are you certain that you are not trying to put a Cat 2 top link onto a Cat 1 equipped tractor? IIRC a Cat 1 top link uses 3/4 inch pins at both ends, and is 21-28 inches long.
