Bulbbul is a 2020 Indian Hindi -language period horror film [2] written and directed by Anvita Dutt. [3][4] It was produced by Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma under Clean Slate Filmz [1] and starred Tripti Dimri in the lead role alongside Avinash Tiwary, Paoli Dam, Rahul Bose, and Parambrata Chattopadhyay.

The bulbuls are members of a family, Pycnonotidae, of medium-sized passerine songbirds, which also includes greenbuls, brownbuls, leafloves, and bristlebills. The family is distributed across most of Africa and into the Middle East, tropical Asia to Indonesia, and north as far as Japan.

During the 19th century (1881) in a village in Bengal Presidency, a 5 year old Bulbbul (Tripti Dimri) is married off to Indranil (Rahul Bose), a wealthy lord, when she is barely five years old. Bulbbul is scared and lonely to be sent to a strange new home at such a tender age.
