The S. Epson caliber YN55A is essentially an unbranded version of the Orient caliber F6722. It is a self-winding automatic movement with 22 jewels, also featuring hacking and hand-winding functionality. These movements are manufactured in Japan. YN55, YN55A, YN55B, YN55C, etc… The letter at the end of YN55 indicated the iteration of the movement.

Feb 9, 2023 · It’s the vendor version of the base Orient movement. Similar to the Miyota 8000 or NH in my experience, but quieter and than the Miyota with hacking and thinner than the NH. Of the three, I’d prefer the YN55, personally. That’s a solid movement.

Oct 16, 2021 · As the 11.11 sale in AliExpress is just a step ahead I have seen some watches offering the YN55A movement as an alternative to the most popular and currently nearly out of stock NH35. They claim that both are Seiko movements and, as the link below asserts, the YN55A is, in fact, a better movement.

Sep 11, 2022 · YN55 is an underrated movement. My 2 San Martins with the YN55 are surprisingly among my most accurate watches, not just among my Chinese watches either. They actually have impressed me quite a bit with how accurately they keep time.
