I would like the user to be able to click a button on the web page that will run a SQL query (canned report) and export the result data to an Excel spreadsheet.

Open Microsoft Excel. Open the sheet where you want your Oracle data to appear. Click the "Data" ribbon. Click "From Other Sources" in the Get External Data group.
