Delta offered passengers on the plane that crash-landed in Toronto a $30,000 payout that was lauded by PR experts. Yet legal experts say the move should be commended only if it really comes “with no strings attached” as Delta says it does.

One passenger said he was “drenched with jet fuel” as the planed rolled upside down and another claimed the crash occurred due to the flight crew’s "inadequate training," according to the lawsuits.

Delta would be paying about $2.3 million if all 76 passengers on the airline’s subsidiary Endeavor Air’s CRJ-900 aircraft accepted the deal.
