Intuitive Machines Delivers Second Lunar Mission Lander to Cape Canaveral, Florida

Intuitive Machines is an American company headquartered in Houston, Texas. It was founded in 2013 by Stephen Altemus, Dr. Kam Ghaffarian, and Dr. Tim Crain. Intuitive Machines provides lunar delivery, data transmission, and infrastructure services to Open Access to the Moon for the Progress of Humanity™.

Intuitive Machines flight controllers successfully fired the first liquid methane and liquid oxygen engine in space, completing the IM-1 mission engine commissioning. This engine firing included a full thrust mainstage engine burn and throttle down-profile necessary to land on the Moon.

Intuitive Machines launches into a 185 km by 380,000 km translunar orbit for lunar missions. With the excess capacity, we can launch spacecraft or payloads on an Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA) for deployment after the launch vehicle separates from the lunar lander.

Under a NASA Space Technology Mission Directorate's Tipping Point initiative, Intuitive Machines developed the Micro Nova Hopper, which is a propulsive drone that is designed to land, deploy, and hop on the company's IM-2 mission.
